Loss of Certainty

Press Release:
I constantly see shadows. The patterns they make are indefinitely changing from the slow movement of light and the shifts entrance me. These patterns I come across exist whether I notice them or not, and when I see them I am reminded of the limitations of my observation and consciousness.
I record, or go back and record, specific shadows that particularly stand out to me. The locations get stuck in my head. Shadows have become a symbol to me of the unknown–mundane circumstances that I regularly encounter contain multitudes of information that I don’t understand or know about. These photographs simulate the shift from feeling grounded to uncertain, and the silent hopes and fears that may be embedded in that change.
